But to the actual point of the topic: this is Hyundai’s new concept, called both the i-Flow and the HED-7 — but mostly called the i-Flow.

Sound familiar? Let me see if I can give you some examples that will ring a bell.

iPhone. iPod. iPad. Get it?

Is this a shrewd marketing ploy? Is the i-Flow cool enough for it to work?

Word to manufacturers: just because you stick an “i” in front of something does not automatically mean it will be successful.

Duh.

No one really took them seriously, because the cars were so crazy inexpensive. It was like, you only bought a Kia if you could not afford anything else. And look at the manufacturer now, look how far the brand has come…

Because, I’m sorry, the Kia Ray concept looks seriously hot. Revealed at the auto show in Chicago, the idea of the concept was and is to show off the manufacturer’s environmental efficiency and its initiative to make autos that are more environmentally friendly.

As a result, the car — a plug in hybrid — is built from a materials that are both recycled and lightweight. The profile flows, thanks to the elimination of any unneeded edges and angles. On the inside, one fines a motif of hexagonal shapes like honeycombs, meant to reduce the car’s weight even more.

This MPV will be one of the forerunners.

Also know as the Suzuki Concept R3, it is considered a vehicle of the next generation and it was inspired by a theme of togetherness.

The leading car manufacturer in India — the country’s Maruti Suzuki India Limited — is responsible for the vehicle. Suzuki’s signature, rather aggressive design aesthetic is alive and well in this vehicle. The idea behind the MPV, which is quite compact, is to fulfill a family’s needs without making the vehicle large, bulky, and hard to handle.

The wave of the future apparently includes more compact vehicles like this, vehicles that are roomy enough to fill the needs of a family without being too awkward.

One of the latter happens to be the Honda P-NUT concept. The “P-NUT” stands for “Personal Neo Urban Transport.”

Pretty inventive naming there, but what exactly does it mean, right? Well, as you can see, the car’s design is incredibly futuristic, making for a vehicle that is extremely compact and very aggressive in its design aesthetic. The coupe was designed stateside, at the Honda R&D Americas’ design studio, housed in Southern California.

Thus far, that is pretty much all that is known about the Honda P-NUT, but a groovy looking car like this definitely deserves further attention, so we will bring you some updated details when they are available.

You know it. Let’s call it the “hey, let’s design a vehicle that looks like a geometric figure” trend — it doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, but it is extremely accurate and applicable.

The Daihatsu Deca Deca concept is the latest to display this rectangular design aesthetic. It was recently revealed, along with three other concepts by Daihatsu, at the motor show in Tokyo. Surprisingly, it pretty much stole the show and emerged as one of the reigning, most popular stars.

Daihatsu calls the vehicle a “super box,” for good reason. The shape is meant to emphasize the vehicle’s stability and functionality.

Well, it does have that. The interior can be completely reconfigured, with fold away seats and many other features.

I figure that by the time it got its launch, every crossover was pretty much starting to taste like beans, but come on, man! This is a Saab!

The concept is expected to look quite a lot to how it will look when it reaches production. The design cues are well executed, but everybody agrees that it is a little bit bland. That is sort of all right, though. Better to be bland than to give into the temptation to be too out there and risk gaudiness, as many other crossover SUVs have done.

The Saab 9-4X was built on top of the except same platform used by the Cadillac Provoq. It plans to go up against the Land Rover Freelander and the BMW X3.

Although it is a mere two and a half meters long, it is somehow able to seat four people, and as befitting the times, it is an all electric vehicle.

The purpose of this car? To reinvent vehicles in every way possible, from style to architecture to interior design to connectivity to driveability to environmental friendliness.

Will it succeed? Well, we will have to wait to find out, of course, but a whole lot of people are very, very hopeful.

I feel like I probably should not like this car. And, in fact, I do not like this car. I love this car.

To me, the Herpa Miniaturmodelle GmbH company is pretty obscure. It sort of sounds like an STD or a germ or something, and the name of this car — the Trabant nT concept — does not make much more sense.

But I do not care. I love this little electric box of a thing.

It looks antique somehow — and indeed, part of the inspiration can be attributed to the late 1960s version of the Volkswagen Squareback.

The car itself will officially debut at the upcoming motor show in Frankfurt. You may recognize some aspects of the 1997 concept — that of the Mini Cooper Monte Carlo. That car was known for exploring many very key elements and design themes which were definitions of the model built by BMW.

Of course, the new model is quite different, and it is taking the manufacturer into a whole new direction. To put it quite simply, the Coupe concept is somehow muscular, encompassing a style that is more than a little bit street rod in essence.

In width and length, the Coupe is just the same as the popular hatchback variation. Specifically, it is 1683 millimeters in width and 3714 millimeters in length. As far as height goes, the Coupe is 1356 millimeters high.

The car is more sporting on the exterior, but inside, things look quite familiar, with the exception of a revised and very attractive layout for the dashboard. It features a number of finishes and leather trim.
